Drupal Design Camp LA is a free, 3-day event on October 12th, 13th & 14th, 2012, and is at Droplabs in Downtown Los Angeles, California. This year's Drupal Design Camp LA is packed with 3 days of pre- and post-camp activities!
Friday: Training & Pre-Camp Party
Join us on Friday, October 12th at Droplabs, a training location for Build a Module.com videos, for a day of mentored training. This training is from 10am to 2pm. See Mentored Training for more information.
In the evening, starting at sundown, we'll be having our pre-camp party at Droplabs. At the barbecue and bonfire outside of Droplabs will be dozens of artists, musicians, engineers, sculptors and metal workers from the local Big Art Labs and Burning Man communities. For more information, see Pre-Camp Party.
Saturday: Design Camp, Presentations & Breakout Sessions
Due to limited space, we may close registrations and start a waitlist if we reach capacity.
Saturday, October 13th is our design camp and we're bringing together designers, developers, information architects and usability engineers to discuss, teach and learn what makes up the design, usability, accessibility and look and feel (the “theme”) of Drupal websites.
Do you have a presentation you'd like to give? Is there one you'd like to see given? Register today and submit your sessions!
After the day is over, we'll be going to our local pub and restaurant, Barbara's at the Brewery. For more information, see DrupalCamp After Dark.
Sunday: Sprints, Hackathon & Barn Raising
Sunday, October 14th is dedicated to code sprints (also known as hackathons). We're hosting a Twig code sprint, where we'll tackle some issues to help get Twig into core as the new Drupal 8 theme engine.
We'll also be having a community barn raising to benefit a local 501c3 non-profit, Surf Corps! Join us as we build a website from scratch to include groups, profiles, activity feeds and more. This is a teach-and-learn opportunity for our local Drupal community and is a win-win-win for everyone. See Barn Raising and Contact Us for more information.
